The Scenic Rim is known for it's splendour throughout Australia, and even the rest of the world.
National Parks
There are some magnificent National Parks in the region for the avid nature lover, two of which are World Heritage listed. These include:
- Mt Barney National Park
- Main Range National Park
- Moogerah Peaks National Park which is made up in four sections eg: Mt French; Mt Greville. Mt Edwards and Mt Moon.

The area attracts rock climbers from all over the world.
There is even a store in Boonah dedicated to rock climbing in the area.
Aviation
Boonah's airfield is the centre for many forms of aviation activity.
Our uncluttered skies and fabulous scenery make Boonah a popular location for flying everything from gliders and ultralights to Cessnas.
Bird Watching
The area has prolific birdlife.
The Feathered Friends Trail will lead you to the best spots.
Star Gazing
Away from the city lights in the clean country air, many people visit just to marvel at our sky littered with thousands of stars.

There are several antiques and old wares establishments in the area.

Lake Moogerah
Beautiful & very large Lake Moogerah has every water sport including Cruising walking the dam and superb views.

For the keen angler, the locals recommend Moogerah and Maroon Dams.
These lakes are also popular for water sports.

Hot Air Balloon Flights
The Scenic Rim's geography & climate are ideal for ballooning - passengers can enjoy magnificent views of this diverse region, with the Great Dividing Range as a backdrop.

Music in the Scenic Rim

The Boonah Show Society is made up of hard-working, local people who care about their community. In 2010, the 'Boonah Show' was chosen as the Scenic Rim Community Event of the Year. The Boonah Show Society maintains local traditions and earlier in 2011 staged its 111th Show. Not only is the Boonah Show Society located in the ‘Heart of the Scenic Rim’, it is also at the heart of the local community - working to make it proud of what it has achieved so far and helping it to dream big about its future.
